New Zealand Shipping Update: Everything You Need to Know

We've made a change to how we ship orders to New Zealand, and we want to walk you through what it means for you

Why has The Oodie changed how it ships to New Zealand?

All New Zealand orders are now shipped from our Australian warehouse instead of a local NZ warehouse. The upside: you now get access to our entire range of Oodie products, instead of the smaller selection that was previously available. We think it's a great trade-off!

Is The Oodie still available in New Zealand?

Absolutely, we're not going anywhere. You'll just be shopping with us through theoodie.com from now on, with more range and more Oodie love than ever.

Will my order take longer to arrive?

Delivery times may be slightly longer than before, as your order is now travelling from Australia. You can expect 1 to 3 business days for us to prepare your order, plus 4 to 7 days shipping once dispatched. We'll always show you an estimated delivery window at checkout so you know what to expect.

Will shipping cost more?

Shipping rates have been updated to reflect the new delivery route and now show in AUD: orders under $100 AUD ship for $17.99, and orders over $100 AUD ship for $12.99. You'll see the exact cost at checkout before you pay.

Which courier will deliver my order?

Your order will now ship from our Australian warehouse, with delivery handled by NZ Post, so you'll receive a NZ Post tracking number once your order is dispatched.

Will I be charged customs or import duties?

For most orders, no. Any applicable duties and customs costs are already factored into your shipping cost at checkout, so there's nothing extra to pay.

For orders over $1,000 NZD, NZ customs requires a separate clearance process, and any applicable duty fees are determined by local customs and are the customer's responsibility.

Where do I shop now that theoodie.co.nz is closing?

You'll now shop with us at theoodie.com, our main Australian site. It's the same Oodie comfort you love, now with our full range available to you.

Will I still see prices in NZD?

Prices on theoodie.com will appear in AUD. Your bank or card provider may apply their own conversion at the time of payment.

I placed an order on theoodie.co.nz, will it still arrive?

Yes, any order already placed on or before August 3rd 2026 will be fulfilled as normal from our New Zealand warehouse. You don't need to do anything.

How do I track an order I placed before the migration?

Nothing changes here. Once your order is dispatched from our warehouse, we'll email you your tracking details as usual.

What happens to my New Zealand gift card balance?

Your balance is safe. We'll convert your remaining NZD balance to AUD and issue you a new gift card code you can use on theoodie.com. We'll email you directly with your new code and instructions.

I received a Oodie gift card as a present, what do I do?

No problem, the same process applies. If you have a gift card email or physical card, hold onto it. We'll be in touch with steps to access your new AUD gift card code, and our Comfort Consultants can help if you have any trouble finding your balance via Live Chat or email – help@theoodie.com.

Do gift cards expire because of this change?

Yes, as your balance is being issued on a new AUD gift card, it will carry a new 3 year expiry from the date of issue.

My Gift Card was purchased for someone else – what happens now?

If you bought a gift card as a gift, we'll email the new AUD gift card details to the original purchase email. We'd recommend forwarding these on to the person you gifted it to, so they have their new code ready to use.

How will my Gift Card balance convert to Australian Dollars?

On 3rd August 2026 from 12pm NZT, our online platform will move to Australian-based delivery for New Zealand customers. Any remaining balance on your NZ gift card will be automatically converted from NZD to AUD using the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) spot exchange rate published on 3rd August 2026.

This means the AUD value of your gift card will reflect the NZD/AUD exchange rate as at that date – no additional fees or margins will be applied to the conversion.

Your converted AUD balance will be available for use at www.theoodie.com from 3rd August 2026 onwards.

How do I return or exchange something I bought on the NZ site?

Just reach out to our Comfort Consultants at help@theoodie.com and we'll arrange a manual return label for you.
